Mrs. Dudley enjoys playing her flute, piano, guitar, recorder, and clarinet. She likes many different types of music and is always looking for new ideas. She likes the challenge of learning new music, learning to sing in a foreign language, and learning music of different countries. She is very grateful she teaches kindergarten through fourth grade music. Each grade has it’s own excitement and magic. Some of her favorite musical activities are composing and arranging music. She has written songs for children involving Native Americans, Santa Claus, Hanukah, winter, and Paddington Bear. She likes to arrange music so it is appropriate for elementary children to sing. She has arranged hundreds of songs like Black spirituals, songs in foreign languages, songs from Broadway musicals. American folk songs to name a few.
Mrs. Dudley has played classical duets with another music teacher, Mrs.Christine Cohen, a violinist. She has arranged many of their duets. Mrs.Dudley feels so proud and privileged to be the music teacher at Calvin Leete. What a pleasure and joy her students are to teach! Mrs. Dudley played her flute and her alto flute in the a flute ensemble in the New York Flute Fair on March 29, 2003 in New York City.
