About Guilford High School
Guilford High School, serving grades 9 through 12, is located near the geographic center of town on New England Road. The High School offers a wide variety of courses allowing students to choose from a broad range of classes. Advanced students may enroll in Advanced Placement (AP) classes in Biology, Calculus, Chemistry, Computer Science, English, French, Physics, Spanish, U.S. History and Western Civilization or attend a neighboring college or university to complement their education at GHS. College Board Scholastic Assessment Test and Connecticut Academic Performance Tests results for GHS students are consistently above state, regional and national averages. Guilford High School students have won many regional and national awards in the academic and creative arts fields. There is a full range of cocurricular activities offered to the student at Guilford High School, including National Honor Society, Student Senate, yearbook, service organizations and language and literary clubs. The sports teams, who receive wide community support, include soccer, football, baseball, basketball, lacrosse, ice hockey, field hockey, fencing, wrestling, softball, tennis, volleyball, cross country, track and golf. Acclaimed music, art and drama programs round out the varied experiences available to Guilford High School students.
