Nutmeg News
The Nutmeg Award is a Connecticut Children's Book award that is decided each year by the children of Connecticut. There are ten books nominated for the Nutmeg Award by a committee composed of children's librarians, school media specialists and teachers in Connecticut.
TIMELINE: The titles are announced a the beginning of the year (around February) and the fourth, fifth and sixth graders in Connecticut have until the following January to read all ten (or as many as they can, but a minimum of five is recommended to qualify for voting). The students vote for their favorite Nutmeg nominee by January 31st.
