March 2012

The kindergarten class are working very hard. The are doing "Questioning the Author" using nonfiction text. Stories about Penguins, Wind, and other nonfiction titles have been read during story time.

They are also planning a trip to Eli Whitney Museum. The date for this trip is May 21.Morning and afternoon children will come to school in the morning and be dismissed at 12:30. All kindergarten students will be dismissed. More info to come.

The children are learning how to write sentences using sight words. Parents are encouraged to read daily to their child.

Students are enjoying their book bags with their " just right books".

Students should continue to work on printing their first and last names correctly on the lines. They are also practicing hard on proper letter and number formations.

We want to save those trees and encourage parents to go to the Guilford Web site and click on the Kindergarten page for news. We try very hard to update it every two weeks.

Parent / Teacher conferences are April 4 and 5. The night conference for kindergarten will be Wednesday April 4. Please return the conference form asap. It is not always possible to coordinate so that families can get one day. We try hard and if you want us to coordinate you must return the form asap.
