A word about homework: In some cases, homework is effort-based. For example, when we are working in our grammar packets, I simply check to see if the student completed his or her work, and then we correct it together in class. The grades for this type of homework range from 95% (complete and thorough) to a zero. This type of homework cannot be made up because we correct it together in class.

Other homework assignments are corrected and graded (crossword puzzles, vocabulary activities, etc.). These can be made up and are marked down 10 points when late.

Finally, many homework assignments are collected, graded, and added to other scoring categories which have more weight. Assignments that fall into this area include writing assignments and comprehension questions.
