Class Expectation, Grading and Bonus Bucks

Please be:

  • on time for class and in your seat by the second bell.
  • prepared by bringing a pencil to each class.
  • a constant learner.
  • a positive influence on yourself and your classmates.
  • sure to follow all safety procedures
  • responsible and make up all missed work when you are absent from class.

Class begins with a Bellringer to help learners focus on the day's lesson. Bellringers answers are written on the Bellringer sheet and dated.  Bellringers count as quiz grades.

Most classwork will be completed during class time, however, if work is not completed in class, it is to be completed for homework.

Grades: Grades are formally issued quarterly.  Grades are based on total points received out of total number of possible points. Projects are counted twice, ie., 100 x 2 for a total of 200 points. A final average is determined at the end of the semester.  Assessments vary from quarter to quarter and may include:, projects, group work, integrated unit work, hand-outs and presentations, as well as, quizzes, effort, class participation (very important) and self assessments are used in formulating grades.  You can always check your progress on PowerSchool.

Bonus Bucks are used to encourage participation and to help develop a positive classroom environment.
