WELCOME TO BALDWIN'S WORLD LANGUAGE WEBSITE!

Two mice sat in their hole, watching Cat lurk outside.  “I know how to make Cat go away,” said the first mouse.

“How?” the second mouse asked in surprise.

“Watch! Woof woof!!!” barked the first mouse.

Peering through their hole in the wall, they saw Cat running away in fear.

“Ah, see the benefit of knowing another language!”

What are we currently doing?

The fifth grade:

After starting the year with a review cycle, 5th grade students completed a fun Project called “Todo Sobre Mí”  (All about me!). They were able to describe themselves, their hobbies and expressed their likes. The project also included a self-portrait and are on display in the hallways. We have started a cycle on food so that we can start our next project on our likes and dislikes in a culinary context.

The sixth grade Spanish:

The 6th grade Spanish students also started the year with a review cycle which included parts of last year's novel "El Mundo de Felipe". We have introduced the subject pronouns so that our next project on the verb gustar (to like) will be successful. Students are learning to talk about their own likes and dislikes

as well as other people's likes and dislikes and incorporate the food and activities vocabulary.

The sixth grade French:

The 6th grade French students have studied the alphabet and French pronunciation, the numbers 1-20 and basic greetings and courtesies. We have just completed our first writing project in French! Students wrote a project called "Je me présente!". They wrote two paragraphs about themselves and their pastimes and preferences all in French. The projects are displayed in the hallways.

We are now starting a unit on important dates and how to say our birthdays and talk about the weather!
