To all Sophomores and Families -

The Sophomore class has completed the 3 part collaborative lesson between the PE and Guidance Department.  The activities have focused on self- awareness, career exploration, post high school planning and the Naviance program.  Part 3, which occurred in March, focused on plans of study, including next year's course selection, and the beginning of a resume.  Sophomores are expected to continue to monitor their own plan of study as well as update their resume on Naviance periodically. 

Scholastic testing is going to be a major part of the next two years.  You have already completed the CAPT experience, for which the results will be mailed to the school in the fall.  The next step in the testing process is the PSAT exams.   The PSAT exam is offered in early October at GHS.  All juniors are encouraged to take this assessment as it is key in the planning of junior year scholastic tests such as SAT and ACT.  As a sophomore, you should spend some time prepping for the exam.  There are many resources available, but www.collegboard.org is key to your preparation as they sponsor the examination.
