Cooperative / Enrichment Opportunities (Throughout the School Year)

Enrichment opportunities are available for all students in conjunction with the offerings at Guilford High School.  Students who qualify can attend enrichment programs, but the students is responsible for any work and/or time missed from the Guilford High School course work.  The following is a list of, but is not limited to such programs:

Capstone Projects

The GHS Capstone Project is intended to be an enriching activity which engages each student in a personalized learning experience.  The project can take many shapes and should be driven by the student's interest and abilities.  For example: one student may decide to build a canoe, while another may decide to write a critical analysis of the novels of William Faulkner.  In addition, a student, working with an advisor and mentor, can design an internship.  A minimum of 60 hours are required for students seeking a single semester, half credit internship and 120 hours for a full year one credit internship.  Each project will need to meet specific academic expectations and the established time line.  Final presentations of the Capstone Project will take place before semester one exams for those seeking first semester 1/2 credit and in the spring for those seeking a full credit or 1/2 credit second semester.  Credit for this project will be added to the student's transcript upon completion.
