Adam’s Wrestling 2012-2013 Team wants you!
If you are athletic 7th or 8th grader and willing to practice hard to improve.
Wrestlers of all sizes needed, weight classes: 70, 77, 84, 91, 98, 105, 112, 120, 128, 136, 144, 152, 160, 175, 190, 210, 265 lbs.
The 2011-2012 winning wrestling team had a dual met record for last year of 7 wins and 4 losses. Individual wrestlers won seven gold medal (1st), five silver medals (2nd), and eleven bronze medals (3rd) at tournaments.

- CT State Qualifier State Runner Up silver medal (2nd) at 130lbs Novice Nicholas Ferrara
- CT State Qualifier bronze medal (3rd) at 112 lbs MS Colin Rook and at 128 lbs MS Juan Rojas
- CT State Qualifier (4th) at 105 lbs MS Jefferson Gallimore, at 112 lbs MS Drew Tischer, and at 128 lbs MS Oscar Carmona
- CT State Qualifier (5th) at 105 lbs MS Andrew Ignoto and at 112 lbs MS Colin Brocksieper
- CT State Champion at 130lbs Novice Nicholas Ferrara

Educational Corner (Scoring):
Match Scoring
:
- Takedown, when from a neutral position, one wrestler is able to bring his opponent to the mat and gain control. Score: 2 points
- Escape, escaping your opponent's control. Score: 1 point
- Reversal, when the wrestler on the bottom is able to reverse the control so that his/her opponent is on the bottom, Score: 2 points
- Near Fall, points awarded when one wrestler comes close to pinning the other. Score: 2 or 3 points depending on the length of time that the opponent's back is exposed to the mat.
- Penalty Points, can be awarded when the opposing wrestler performs illegal move. Score 1 point for the first and second penalty, 2 points for the third penalty, disqualification for the fourth penalty.
- Technical Violations, going out of the wrestling area, grasping clothing or equipment, interlocking hands, not properly equipped, etc. Score 1 point for the first and second penalty, 2 points for the third penalty, disqualification for the fourth penalty.
- Cautions, are issued for incorrect starting position or false start, Score 2 cautions then1 point for each subsequent infraction
- Cautions are issued if the wrestler applies a hold that is potentially dangerous.
- Stalling, a warning is given for excessive stalling and then penalties begin for subsequent calls. Score 1 point for the first and second penalty, 2 points for the third penalty, disqualification for the fourth penalty.
Team Scoring:
- Win by Fall, a fall is known as a pin, occurs when one wrestler holds both his opponents' shoulders or scapulaon the mat at the same time for two seconds. Score 6 Team Points in Dual Meet Competition.
- Win by Technical Fall, if either wrestler gains a fifteen-pointadvantage on their opponent at any point then the match is declared over and he/she is the winner. Score 5 Team Points in Dual Meet Competition.
- Win by Major Decision, this occurs when neither wrestler achieves a fall or technical fall, the wrestler with an eight to fourteen point at the end of the match is declared the winner. Score 4 Team Points in Dual Meet Competition.
- Win by Decision, this occurs when neither wrestler achieves a fall or technical fall, the wrestler with the most points at the end of the match is declared the winner. Score 3 Team Points in Dual Meet Competition.
