Volunteer Training SessionsWe appreciate the valuable time our volunteers give to help in the Guilford Public Schools "Extra Pair of Hands" Program. In an effort to ensure the best experience possible for both the students and our volunteers, we require an orientation session for all adults who volunteer in Guilford Public Schools. The session offers an overview of the "Extra Pair of Hands" program, different approaches for dealing with children, and safety guidelines. All parents, guardians, and family members who plan to volunteer in classrooms, on field trips, during special events, and at PTO activities this year must attend an orientation session. If you attended an orientation session during another school year, you are NOT required to attend again. The orientation sessions are scheduled at various times for your convenience and are open to family members from all Guilford schools. Please share this information with adult family members, such as grandparents, who may want to volunteer for activities such as field trips or special activities in the spring. They, too, must attend an orientation session. For your convenience, a printable schedule of the 2011 - 2012 orientation sessions is available below. |
