Summer Reading 2010Kindergarten Suggested Reading It is suggested that when a child is read to, the adult points out the cover, title and author’s name and lines of print and talks about the illustrations. During and after reading talk about characters and events from the story, make connections to the child’s own life and share the love of reading. Grade 4 Suggested Reading Fourth Grade is the first year students are able to participate in the Connecticut Nutmeg Children's Book Award. Ten new titles are nominated each year and children vote for their favorite after reading the books. The nominees for the 2009 Nutmeg Book Award are included in the reading list below.
